Fangfoss, with its neighbouring villages of Spittal and Bolton, lies at the foot of the Yorkshire wolds The Carpenters Arms, has good food and drink, a garden suitable for children and welcoming hosts. The village of Fangfoss has a number of craftsmen (see Businesses) and each September is host to the well-loved two-day Fangfest, a celebration of the practical arts - and a great family outing. There is no overnight accommodation in Fangfoss, but there are nearby caravan parks and holiday cottages for longer stays. A recent addition has been Jubilee Park - a community park with climbing fort and other unusual features of interest to kids and adults alike. Ours is a small community, but is still worth a visit. The village of Fangfoss is mentioned in the Domesday book and a full history can be found on the British History Online site. Fangfoss has a fine (privately owned) Georgian hall. A church has stood on the present site since Norman times and parts of the original can still be seen in the present building.
